The Bears bums are better than the Browns bums.   Tonight live from Soldier Field for preseason game number 4 in Chicago, the Bears ran over the Cleveland Browns 24-0.   No one of any significance played in this game for either team.  In this game we had the immortal David Fales and Zac Dysert versus the The Thad Lewis Show and Pat Devlin.   That being said that guys that were out there did a horrible job for Cleveland.  Despite good field position several times, the Browns were shutout and did not score.    Thad Lewis had some ill-timed turnovers, including a pick 6 by Sherrod Martin.   By the end of the third quarter the Bears had 6 sacks and 3 turnovers.  They ended the game with seven sacks.

On the offensive end the Bears were steady under Fales.  Fales at one point completed 7 passes in a row and finished 14/18 for 131 yards and 2 touchdowns.  One touchdown was to Marc Mariani who hasn’t caught a regular season pass since 2011, the second pass to a guy named Ify.   Fales is not flashy, his arm is not great but he appears to be able to lead a team and not afraid to take a hit.  He also has some good movement in the pocket.  Ka’Deem Carey and Jeremy Langford ran all over the Browns tonight with big gainers for each.   Carey runs hard and breaks tackles.  He finished with 68 yards on 12 carries, Langford finished with 55 yards on 9 carries.  When Langford was at Michigan State, I always wanted the Bears to draft him.   He reminds me a lot of Forte although he is probably slighter quicker.   Outstanding pick by Ryan Pace in a contract year for Forte.

John Fox and Ryan Pace have some interesting decisions ahead.  Most of the starters this preseason were either hurt or ineffective.   Guys like John Timu, Jon Anderson, Mason Foster, Ify Umodu and Cameron Meredith made plays all preseason.   All those guys I mentioned right there except for Foster are undrafted free agents.   The Bears could go with some really cheap options at some spots and I don’t think anyone will bat an eye.    This team stunk last year and the players that were here gave up on Trestman.   It will be interesting to see how many of them stick around.  The Bears end the preseason at 3-1, the Browns at 1-3.
