With the draft less than a month away, the bulls find themselves in a good position to add a very talented young player to the roster via the lottery. Chicago can go several ways with their draft pick due to the fact that the roster has so many unknowns going into the summer. Pau Gasol and Joakim Noah are both free agents and according to multiple reports their future is very much in the air. The Bulls could look to resign one of them and draft a young big to develop for the future. There are rumblings of Derrick Rose or Jimmy Butler being moved this summer due to the fact that some people think that they can not coexist. Butler is the most likely to be moved because he is a star player and would bring back the most to the Bulls in a trade. Rose is probably in Chicago for the foreseeable future due to his huge contract and inability to stay healthy.

This team does need an infusion of young talent. They do have Doug McDermott, Nikola Mirotic, and Bobby Portis as young pieces, but none of them have shown all-star caliber potential. They can go several ways in this draft and it’s almost impossible to predict exactly what position that they address with the 14th pick. Lets take a look at 5 potential draft picks that could interest the bulls.

  • Skal Labissiere, PF-C, Kentucky – While the young big did not fulfill expectations in his one year in Lexington, the talent is still there for this former top recruit due to his length, athleticism, and developing jump shot.
  • Wade Baldwin, PG, Vanderbilt At 6’3 with a 6’11 wingspan, Baldwin has the size of a modern point in today’s game. Concerns of his athleticism were erased after his combine performance and his draft stock has risen the last few weeks.
  • Domantas Sabonis, PF-C, Gonzaga-  Sabonis is one of the most polished low post scorers in the draft. His ability to score on the block and rebound translate well to the NBA game.
  • Denzel Valentine, SG, Michigan State Regarded by some as the Spartans most decorated player to come out, Valentine’s production this past season was amazing with averages of (19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 7.8 assists) and validates his standing as one of the most well-rounded players in the draft.
  • Deyonta Davis, PF-C, Michigan State The Spartans other projected lottery pick is oozing with talent. The freshman big is ready-made to defend and rebound in the NBA, and with his high level athleticism the ceiling is just as high as any big in the draft.
