The 2-1 loss against New York Red Bulls was not expected by the fans. The Fire played good but could have done a lot better. Bastian not being 100% fit did not make a huge impact but he did contribute to the team. The one thing that went wrong for the Fire was their shots and first touches. When it came to first touches David Accam was struggling to make a run. There were so many perfect opportunities for King David to pass the defense. We all know when David Accam gets the ball something exciting is about to happen, but none of that happened on Saturday. Someone else who had trouble was Nemanja Nikolic and Luis Solignac who had trouble finding the back of the net. Even though by the end of the match Nikolic had himself a goal he had so many chances to score at least 3 goals. Solignac, on the other hand, looked afraid to shoot the ball, he shot the ball softly and to a bad direction many times. The defense played good together, had some minor mistakes here and there but are coming together great. The midfield seemed liked they were not as alive as other matches, but that was changed later on into the game.
The negatives of this game can be worked on before the Fire go up against LA Galaxy next for their match. LA Galaxy has also been having a tough season also having a brand new coach. The Fire needs to wake up and fight in away games. At this time every point is crucial.
