Chicago Fire will be returning home empty handed losing their past two away games, but focusing on their home match against eastern conference leaders Toronto FC. The Fire has not been effective in their away games as they are at home games. Chicago lost their last four away games including the last two against eastern conference rivals Columbus Crew 3-1 and Canadian side Montreal Impact who defeated the men in red 3-0. Now the Fire has not been committing the way they were before the gold cup break, but before the gold cup break, the Fire was still not a feared team on the road. At home, the Fire has proven to be the toughest team being unbeatable at Toyota Park. Many upset fans are wondering what’s been going on. It seems as the men in red no longer have the same attack they had before the gold cup break. Nemanja Nikolic has been very quiet for the past 6 matches and David Accam hasn’t shown his skillful talents. The player that has been showing their potential is the Lion, Michael de Leeuw, who has scored twice in his last three games. Nemanja Nikolic no longer being the golden boot leader, Chicago Fire is no longer in second place in the eastern conference, where the men in red were once sitting in first place. Chicago is going to have to make some changes in order to win away games. Even if the Fire ends up going to the playoffs, the way the play on the road will have their playoff run end early.
