Dare we believe Fire fans could it be so we could make the Play****. Maybe we don’t want to actually say the word fearing we might jinx it. The Fire got out of their late summer slump with two wins and a draw in their last three matches. Could the big 3-0 win against D.C. United spark a good run off of form that could see them finish in 2nd place? Second place could give them a bye in the first round of the Play****. Arrgh there is that word again. The Fire face a tricky match this Saturday when they travel to Philadelphia a place where they have yet to win. Including back to back defeats in the Open Cup and league play one year. So can the Fire split the Union and leave the City of Brotherly love with three points?

Nemanja Nikolic tied a regular season goal scoring with Ante Razov with 18 so far when converted the penalty kick in the 90th minute last Saturday. He will have a chance to have his own record if he scores Saturday. He is also keeping pace with David Villa for the Golden Boot. He joined the Guys on the couch for Wednesday’s Chicago Fire Weekly and had this to say about the rest of the season and the Locker room, “Everybody fights for each other. This is how it needs to be. We are fighters and we are winners and we will show this” So can Niko show no love to opposing defenses and help the Fire achieve heights Fans have not seen in many seasons?

Can we capture some silver bling to celebrate our 20th anniversary? I will say this the team has given fans many moments to cheer this season. I have this thought “We are 22 points from the very bottom and 100% percent chance not to be awarded the dreaded wooden spoon. So should we take a page out of the Cubs play book after they blew up the dreaded Baseball and incinerate the wooden spoon award. After look where it got them. Do I hear World Series Champs?
