The Chicago Bulls (13-25) go on the road to visit the Dallas Mavericks (13-26) Friday night. It will be the first of back to back road games for the Bulls. The Bulls are hoping to end a 3 game losing streak and get their first win of the new year.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • The Bulls have lost their last four matchups with the Mavericks, including their last two visits to Dallas.
  • This game will feature two of the most promising rookies this year, Dennis Smith, Jr. and Lauri Markkanen. It will be exciting to see the future stars of the NBA going up against each other Friday night.
    • Lauri Markkanen is currently averaging 14.9 points, and 7.6 rebounds per game, while Smith Jr is averaging 13.8 points, 4.4 assists, and 4.1 rebounds per game.
  • Zach LaVine will travel with the team on this two-game road trip. The guard out of UCLA is inching a return to the court and has a meeting scheduled Monday with the team to discuss a return date.
  • Injury Notes
    • Cameron Payne and Zach LaVine are out for the Bulls.
    • Dorian Finney-Smith, Seth Curry, and Nerlens Noel have all been ruled out for the Dallas Mavericks.


The game starts at 7:30 PM Central Time and can be seen on NBC Sports Chicago for those in the Chicagoland area.
