Eloy Jimenez is one of those talents that whenever he steps to the plate he’s just must watch. The guy just rakes and if we’re being completely honest the Sox are wasting his time keeping him in AA and will be wasting it more when they move him to AAA. The kid needs to be in the majors. Like NOW. He’s not a pitcher like Michael Kopech or Alec Hanson where you’re more or less preserving their arms for the bigs when the Sox start becoming more seriously competitive. He’s a position player that deserves a pro roster spot right now.

Right now in Birmingham he is coming off a 9 game MULTI HIT streak and had a 14 game hit streak on top of that. Jimenez is hitting .320/.345/.612/.957 with 7 dingers and 25 RBI. That’s unreal. Especially that preposterous .612 slugging. You just don’t see that type of raw talent. And it’s not like Eloy is timid about coming up to the majors. He has actually voiced he wants to be up there sooner rather than later on a multitude of occasions.

I’m not saying the White Sox need to fold with every prospect and just bring them up. I think waiting on Kopech, Hanson, Dylan Cease etc. is a great idea because they still need fine tuning. But I really do think Eloy is ready for that big stage and he wants it more than anything. Bringing him up wouldn’t show any signs of weakness or desperation for the Sox but rather a breathe of fresh air and another must see talent added to your big league roster. Make the move and call Lamantha up. He’s proven he is ready and it’s his time to shine. Let Eloy do what Eloy does best and that’s hit the ever living shit out of the ball and put every team in the MLB on notice. It’s Eloys time to come up and make some noise, do the right thing White Sox.
