The Fire defended home against Louisville City to fight to continue their run for the U.S Open Cup.

The men in reds run for the cup has been good so far. Defeating clubs like Columbus Crew, Atlanta, and now Louisville.

The Fire have been struggling in league matches but it seems different for their cup matches and they hope to bring that same “Fire” Saturday, against Toronto FC.

Chicago Fire defended and attacked well Wednesday night. They seemed to figure out their many problems in the attack they’ve been facing all season. Options on the attack. But it seemed everyone wanted a piece of the goal.

Aleksander Katai, the man with the hot feet assisted Nemanja Nikolic in scoring the first goal of the night. Nemanja headed the ball in the back of the net from a perfectly timed cross from Katai. Not only did Katai earn an assist but he also earned himself a goal, something he’s been doing a lot.

The Fire are looking good for their matchup against Philadelphia Union, the semi finals of the US Open Cup. With how the attack showed and the Fire played as an exact team, they have a good chance of making it to the finals.

Chicago Fire was defeating last year in the quarter final against Cincinnati FC.

How will the men in red defend against David Accam and the Union? Will we see the Fire enter the Finals?
