Another tough loss on the road makes that their 6th straight season game loss. The men in red are on a streak right now, and it’s not one they want to be on. The last time Chicago Fire won was June 30th, against New York City FC.

Chicago played Real Salt Lake without three key players. Benching Katai, Bastian Schweinsteiger, and Nemanja Nikolic for Tuesdays US Open Cup semi final. While benching those key players, Chicago also benched Goalkeeper Richard Sanchez for Stefan Cleveland, who made his first career appearance. Cleveland had himself a good first game, having a total of 8 saves. Sadly the young keepers Side didn’t receive the win.

Bastian was subbed in in the 46th minute to help the men in red in the midfield with Tony Tchani having himself a bad performance. Bastian immediately made a difference in the attack, and scored in the 49th minute equalizing the score 1-1.

The Fire later went on to lose the match, with a total of 33% possession and 68% Pass success, leaving people wondering what happened to last years Fire? Was it put out ? Cause they certainly aren’t on fire anymore.

Chicago Fire will be preparing to face Philadelphia Union Tuesday night for the US Open Cup, to see who will reach the final.

Chicago Fire have faced the Union twice this year, losing both games by 3-1, and 3-4. Fire have been struggling badly this season, but if theres one thing they’ve been good at, its the Open Cup.

The men in red have Eliminated Louisville City FC (4-0), Atlanta United (1-0), and the Columbus Crew (9-10 penalties) to make it to the semi finals.

So what do you think, will Chicago Fire be able to defeat Philadelphia Union away to reach the finals of the US Open Cup.
