Chicago Fire traveled to Bayern Munich for Bastian Schweinsteigers testimonial match. Now, this match wasn’t for the Fire but for Bastian, German and Bayern Munich legend. Bayern defeated the Fire 4-0, tough loss? No, It was a chance for him to put that Bayern Jersey on once again, and step onto the stadium full of fans where he spent 14 years of his career with. A chance for those to say goodbye to their club legend.

Schweinsteiger was even able to get himself a goal from a wonderful volley to end the match 4-0.

Despite the result, it was a great match and experience for both parties. Now Chicago Fire will be focusing onto their match against Orlando City at home on Sunday, September 16th.

While Chicago Fire haven’t won a match in 9 games, 8 of those being losses, Orlando City also haven’t won in 6 matches being a slump themselves. The men in red are currently above Orlando in the eastern conference table by 1 point. This match won’t necessarily decide on each clubs faith since Orlando City have two matches before they face Chicago Fire.

The men in red have enough time to rest and take advantage of this long break to prepare themselves for an important game. Important game? The Fires season might be over but given up won’t take them any further. They’ll have to end the season good to give themselves and the fans a little hope for next season.
