With the Blackhawks coming off a miserable 3-game Canadian road swing, Chicago fans don’t have much to be excited about. Luckily, two promising Hawks NCAA prospects provided some highlight-reel material over the weekend.
Ian Mitchell
The super-talented young defenseman skates in from the blue line, weaving through defenders before dishing the primary assist on Denver’s go-ahead goal in the second period. Shades of Erik Karlsson, anyone?

This goal would hold up to be the game-winner as the Pioneers defeated Western Michigan by a score of 5-2 on Friday night.
Evan Barratt
On Saturday night, I wasn’t sure if Evan Barratt was playing hockey or lacrosse. He gathers the puck behind the net then lifts it up on his stick and flicks it inside the crossbar in this jaw-dropping sequence.

Barratt’s Nittany Lions fell to Arizona State by a score of 4-3 in overtime, but he definitely delivered the play of the game.
