Now, Alan Gordon (37) hadn’t come in much of a surprise, and the fans were notified of it days before their last match. A true legend in MLS, but it was his time to retire. But, now when it comes to Brandon Vincent and Christian Dean everyone is looking at the front office, wondering if something is going on behind the scenes.

Brandon Vincent, who’s 24-years-old was the future of MLS, the Chicago Fire, and the USMNT. He was on his third year with the club. He made himself a regular starter since being drafted by the Fire in 2016 the MLS Super draft. The Fire had traded Jack Harrison to New York City FC, for a pick that we received Brandon Vincent in. His contract was around $133,000, and his contract was set to expire December, so we’d believe he’d get a pay raise, right? So why retire?

Dean, now Christian Dean (25) has been playing professional soccer for 5 years. He spent 3 years with Vancouver Whitecaps were they loaned him to their second and third teams, and spent 2 years with the Chicago Fire. His contract just like Vincent and nearly every Fire players contract was expiring in December. But Dean had only started 5 matches for the men in red in two Years. An injury in his first start with the club saw his first season cut a bit short, and second season well the club struggled in injuries. So, In his fifth year as a professional he had only 20 appearances, and was making nearly $90k with the club. He announced his retirement a few days after Vincent announced his.

So, whats going on behind the scenes? Is there more to the story, or did they just want to start a fresh chapter in their lives?
