Bulls Welcome Marc Eversley as New GM; What It Means for the Team

“Bryan, he gets after it, Bryan is a mentor to me, and he’s helped me with my development, my growth over the years. I’m looking forward to working with him again. He’s got a clear vision and a path for this franchise, and where he wants to take it, and I’m happy to be part of that.”– Marc Eversley via Brian Seltzer (Sixers.com)

Being that Colangelo left the NBA and fans alike with a sour taste in their mouth after his burner account incident in 2018, it is no surprise a lot of Bulls fans are second-guessing the decision to hire his apprentice. Admittedly, I am not the biggest fan of Colangelo, but I can’t say I feel the same about Eversley.

Finding himself at the forefront of the 76ers, Wizards, and Raptors pre-draft process he has brought in a slew of young talent and has been noted to have a very hands-on approach.

During his time with other organizations around the NBA, you could find Marc on the road scouting college and international games. Eerily similar to what another recent Bulls front office hire did previously.

Throughout this whole remodeling process Arturas Karnisovas, and more importantly the Bulls as a whole have been diligent in their work and this time it was no different.

Marc Eversley has a great relationship with the players in today’s NBA due to his prior engagement with Nike as the leader of the company’s player relationship division.
This, combined with his adept draft knowledge and ability to identify talent should make for a rather potent front office medley in Chicago.
