Bulls Fire Head Athletic Trainer, Jeff Tanaka

Thursday morning the Chicago Bulls made the decision to let go of their head athletic trainer Jeff Tanaka.

Mr. Tanaka has been a long time employee of the Bulls dating all the way back to 2008. Throughout his time with the organization the team was hit with injury after injury to star players such as Derrick Rose, Lauri Markannen, and more. While it is possible the myriad of injuries the Bulls have been crippled with can be chalked up to bad luck, this putrid track record is something new management had to look upon when deciding whether or not to extend his looming contract.

The Bulls fired general manager Gar Forman last month, and now head trainer Jeff Tanaka has also been shown the exit door with his contract not being picked up, according to multiple sources. Director of performance health Chip Schaefer will remain in his position.

This adds to the short but potent list of good moves for Karnisovas since he overtook the reigns of basketball operations.
