Bears Problems Start Upfront
It has been a problem all too familiar for Bears fans and the teams in the past 5 seasons.
No matter who it is, the QB is getting dropped at least 30+ times.
Happened with Fields all 3 seasons in Chicago with 36, 55, and 44. Remember that Fields missed time in all 3 seasons and was still dropped this many times.
Caleb Williams feels that in a more extreme way, as he has been sacked 58 times.

Williams’ combination with holding the ball + the O-line’s inability to protect longer than 3+ seconds has caused that, but it had been brewing.
As much as Justin Fields was criticized for his passing, his rushing ability perhaps disguised some of the O-line’s issues, such as not investing enough premium assets.
Look across at the Detroit Lions. Penei Sewell heads it, but their offensive line has 2 other 1st round picks to add to it and veteran depth to back it up.
The Bears’ loan 1st-round investment in tackle Darnell Wright has proven to be a solid pick, but the rest of the line leaves question marks and lacks high-end talent.
Braxton Jones was a 5th-round pick, Teven Jenkins was a 2nd but is constantly dealing with injuries, Center has constantly been shuffled, Nate Davis was a disaster, and Matt Pryor is a backup and perhaps a 3rd stringer.
This has continued to be a problem, especially against their NFC North counterparts, who all have built well-established foundations upfront.
Until the Bears do, they will be going nowhere.
