Does it Burn? Chicago Fire 2025 Schedule Release
At the end of last week, the Chicago Fire released their 2025 regular season schedule.
It seemed that the league had all MLS teams share their schedules on Thursday afternoon, the same day.
In recent years, teams around the league have creatively shared their schedules on their social platforms. That continued to be the case this year as teams developed different themes and storylines specific to their club and city.
The Fire came up with a very witty way to release their schedule.
I thought it was great because it was fun, straight to the point, and not as corny as some other schedule releases teams around the league have shared in the past. At times, it feels like front-office league officials try to push teams to be too social online, almost diminishing the professionalism and credibility the league tries to maintain.
You would never see a Real Madrid or a Manchester United film a cheesy comedy skit to drop and share their new season schedule. As I said, though, the Chicago Fire did a pretty good job delivering what the league probably requested. Clean, minimal, and direct
In an open field, the Fire social team placed objects and props representing each opponent the Fire will face in 2025 on top of a metal trashcan. Those objects were then literally burned to a crisp with a giant flamethrower. The point was to see how each of the Fire’s opponents ‘burned,’ hopefully foreshadowing how the Chicago Fire’s 2025 quality on the field will burn anyone they face! For instance, they placed a pink flamingo pool floaty on top of the trashcan and burned it. That prop represented Inter Miami FC. Another example was burning Mickey and Minnie Mouse’s ears, which represented Orlando City, home to Disney World. At one point in the video, they burned the trashcan with nothing on top. The trashcan burning represented Columbus Crew. Of course, they had to throw a little jab at their Midwest rivals (haha).
The Fire will kick off the 2025 regular season on the road against the Columbus Crew on Saturday, February 22, at Lower.com Field.

It is not the easiest opponent to start your regular season; however, we will get to see a glimpse of what the Fire can give us in 2025 and what Gregg Berhalter has worked on all preseason long with the Men in Red. After the regular season opening match, the Fire will host DC United on Saturday, March 1st, at Soldier Field the following weekend. This will be the earliest home opener in Chicago Fire history. If you plan to attend, we suggest you layer up!
In 2025, the Fire will host 17 matches, 15 of which will be on Saturdays. During next year’s regular season, the Fire will also have one Wednesday match and one Sunday match at home.
June and September will see the most home matches for the Fire – 3 a piece.
Also worthy of noting, Leagues Cup 2025 will be played between July 29 and August 31.
The MLS season will not pause for Leagues Cup play as it has in recent editions.

Columbus Crew, LAFC, Inter Miami FC, San Diego FC (new expansion team)
Whatever it is, 2025 promises to be exciting, with lots of questions to be answered. This season can be the season that plays a massive role in our future. 2025 does feel pivotal for the club’s next decade or so.
