Ben Johnson is All Business
It’s no secret that fans hype their team beyond belief, and the Chicago Bears fanbase is no exception.
Since Ryan Poles took over as GM, he has constructed three offseasons’ worth of hype that have gotten fans into the season, only to leave them disappointed.
Offseason Hype
2023 was the #1 pick trade to Carolina, which landed them DJ Moore, Darnell Wright, and other assets that the Bears had lacked up to that point.
2024 was the Caleb Williams selection with the promise that he was the elusive QB that would make fans forget about all the QB purgatory in the team’s history.
Well, that didn’t happen, and instead, Jayden Daniels took the world by storm, and Williams endured a grueling season with 68 sacks and a 5-12 record.
This offseason, it has been about shoring up the missteps in the team-building process.
Those include finding a new shiny head coach and protection upfront to hopefully solidify the pass and run game.

I don’t know the man personally, but from afar, and the interviews that players themselves and Johnson have conducted, it seems a new philosophy has been set.
It’s no secret that after that Hail Mary loss, the locker room lost all respect for Matt Eberflus and the coaching staff.
This came after the Bears spent all their resources on offensive weapons, and the hype was through the roof, but now it’s time to get uncomfortable.
All this hype doesn’t equal winning. What does is putting in countless hours in the film and weight room and going out and executing on Sundays.
The time is now for the Bears.
