Heading in the Right Direction
Concerns soared for the Chicago Bulls after a heated exchange occurred during halftime of a 150-126 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Since that exchange in December, the Chicago Bulls have gone 11-6, and are top 10 in both offense and defense. The Bulls defeated the Atlanta Hawks on Monday night, securing their third win in a row. The victory puts the team 3 games back from the 6th seed in the Eastern Conference, despite currently sitting at the 10th spot. The Chicago Bulls will take on a struggling Pacers team that is currently on a 7 game losing streak tonight. A victory would bump the Bulls up to the 9th spot, and put them half a game back from the 8th seeded Atlanta Hawks.
Patrick Williams Blossoms
Patrick Williams has fulfilled his role in the month of January. Williams has averaged 12.9 points, and 5.2 rebounds in 10 games this month. He has also scored 15+ in 4 games this month. Patrick’s scoring has come up big for the Bulls, who have needed the supporting cast to step up offensively. The Bulls have always enjoyed Patrick Williams defensive effort, but have needed him to become aggressive offensively. This month he has fulfilled his offensive duties helping the Bulls secure wins that they desperately needed. Williams has shot 48.4% from the field, and 46.7% from three, showing that he can help the Bulls stretch the floor. Deemed The Paw by Stacey King in reference to Kawhi Leonard, Patrick Williams has showed an identical play style, however he still has a long way to go to becoming a superstar, but is set on the right track.
