Win Streak Ends in Boston

The Chicago Bulls’ 3 game win streak ended Monday night following a loss in Boston. The Bulls have played solid basketball since the start of the new year. The Bulls are just above .500 at 3-2 in 2023, but they have played competitive basketball, with their two losses coming from games that came down to the final seconds of regulation. The Chicago Bulls will look to build on this play, as they currently are the 10th seed in the Eastern Conference. Climbing the rankings off the conference would allow the Bulls to avoid the play-in tournament, and provide the team with a confidence boost down the line.

LaVine Provides All-Star Level Play

In the off season, Zach LaVine signed a 215 million dollar max contract with the Chicago Bulls, but he failed to provide the level of play that was expected after signing the deal, however everything changed last Friday night. LaVine drained 11 three-point shots in the Bulls win over the Philadelphia 76ers. LaVine finished the night with 41 points, shooting 73.6% from the field. Zach would go on to drop in 36 points against the Utah Jazz on the following night. On Monday night, LaVine would rally the trailing Chicago Bulls back into the game against the Celtics, but his efforts would come up just short. The Bulls will rely on Zach LaVine to continue this level of play as they attempt to climb the conference standings.

DeMar DeRozan Suffers a Quad Strain

DeRozan would be taken out of the Bulls game on Monday night after suffering a strained quad. DeMar would state post game that the quad has been bothering him for 8 games, but he played through it, and that his injury status will be day-to-day. The Chicago Bulls should take a cautious approach with DeRozan, as his quad has been bothering him recently. DeRozan has yet to miss a game this season for the Chicago Bulls, and he looks to have avoided a serious injury that would keep him out for an extended period of time.
